Research

The Department of Health Sciences fosters a diverse, interdisciplinary scholarly environment to investigate diverse areas of human health. Our faculty are active scholars that publish in the leading journals in their fields and direct research projects that involve students. Our research ranges from the bench (microbiology) to the bedside (clinical ethics; anatomy & physiology) to the community (mixed methods public health research).

Areas of scholarship in the department include:

Ethics Education
End-of-life issues
Molecular mechanisms of herpesvirus entry into cells (first step of infection)
Public Health Ethics
Secondary prevention needs of HIV-positive young MSM
Social determinants of health behavior among young MSM
