Research and Externally Funded Programs

Faculty and Staff in the STEM Studies Department conduct research in math and science education and seek out and obtain funding for collaborative projects to improve K-12 math and science education.

We primarily focus on working with K-12 math and science teachers to bring the latest research-based methodologies to enhance their teaching practice and to have transformative effects on entire schools.

STEM Studies Faculty have received funding from NASA, Illinois Space Grant, the National Science Foundation, the Department of Education, the Illinois State Board of Education, Chicago Community Trust, CME Group Foundation and Children First Foundation, among others.
