Externship Opportunities

All students participate in two externship experiences during the last two quarters of the Speech Language Pathology (MS) program. These experiences are taken as SLP 485 (Externship - Schools) and SLP 486 (Externship - Medical).

In the video below, you can see the journey our first graduate student cohort took to become a Vincentian speech language pathologist and the exciting clinical externship placement opportunities they had available to them.

Externship Placements

Click on any of the bars below to see a sample of possible externship placements available for our students. Placements are made by the Director of Clinical Education and often require interviews with the site.

It is important to note that the externship placements may have multiple sites located throughout the Chicagoland area. Students should be prepared to travel to different locations and will be responsible for their own transportation to and from these sites. It is essential to plan accordingly and ensure reliable transportation arrangements are in place to maximize the real-world learning experience.
