Tiamo Katsonga-Phiri is a third-year graduate student in the Clinical-Child Psychology PhD program. She currently works as a clinical practicum trainee. She serves as a therapist for children, adolescents and their families with different mental health needs. Additionally, Tiamo works on the Cities Project that aims to create depression interventions effective for minority youth. Her research interests are in various types of complex trauma. In the future Tiamo hopes to work with women and children in vulnerable populations such as refugees and other post-war civilians in African nations helping them to become survivors rather than victims. Tiamo acquired her BA in Psychology at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana.
