Professional Training


DePaul Family & Community Services is pleased to announce we are accepting applications for a variety of clinical externship training opportunities for pre-doctoral graduate students in psychology for the 2021-2022 academic year.  Applications will be accepted until the positions are filled; however, we encourage applicants to apply as soon as possible, as we will review materials and offer interviews as applications are received.

All positions are unpaid clinical experiences and require a 07/01/2021 to 06/30/2022 commitment.  Please refer to the application and externship descriptions listed below. Externship Descriptions:

EARLY Externship 2021-2022
School-Based, Trauma-Focused Externship 2021-2022
Forensic Asylum Assessment Externship 2021-2022

All application materials must be submitted via the online portal. Emailed applications will not be accepted.

To complete the application for an externship placement at DePaul Family & Community Services, please be prepared to provide the following information:
·       Personal contact information
·       Education information
·       Rankings of the externship opportunities
·       Eligibility affidavit (explaining history of any disciplinary action)
·       Contact information for two (2) letter writers 
You will also be required to upload the following files:
  1. cover letter clearly indicating your interest and fit to one or more of the specific externship opportunities.
  2. Your curriculum vitae
  3. A writing sample (i.e., a deidentified psychological report or therapeutic summary)
  4. An official graduate transcript
Letters of Recommendation
You will be asked to provide the names of two (2) letter writers. When you complete your application, an email will automatically be sent to your identified letter writers requesting them to make their submissions online. However, at the end of the application, you may also send each letter writer a link to upload their letter of recommendation.
