The services offered by FCS are always client-centered, confidential and private. Counseling is designed to suit each client's specific needs. Individual assessment is conducted to determine the nature of the problem, and mutually agreed upon steps are developed with clients to resolve their issues.

Treatment can range from a few appointments to long-term support. Clients are referred to the best person or program to help solve their problems. Parents, guardians or other important relatives are encouraged to participate. Follow-up and feedback are used to determine whether clients are satisfied with the help they received.

The staff also trains student therapists enrolled in DePaul University's Clinical Psychology doctoral program, which emphasizes urban, community-based, and multicultural experiences with children and families.
