Nyssa Snow-Hill, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Clinical Psychology (Community Track) Program, teaching graduate students evidence-based interventions for children and families. She has expertise in using implementation science to better translate research into real world practice, a topic she teaches to undergraduates. Her research primarily focuses on using community-based participatory methods to inform the development and implementation of evidence-based interventions for those experiencing homelessness and other systems-involved youth. She also seeks to better understand and improve attitudes toward those experiencing homelessness. Two of her current projects include: 1) developing an integrated substance use and traumatic stress intervention for youth experiencing homelessness; and 2) developing a technology-based intervention to help prevent eviction for individuals with substance use disorder living in housing communities. She focuses on engaging in service that improves the well-being of graduate students and of the program, including organizing events for graduate students and supporting their own service engagements.
