Dr. Egan joined DePaul University in Spring of 2022 as an Associate Professor within the Masters of Occupational Therapy Program.  Prior to joining DePaul, Dr. Egan was the founding site coordinator for the second occupational therapy program in South Carolina at Lenoir-Rhyne University's Columbia campus. 

His primary areas of interest include addressing the occupational needs of clients experiencing  or at risk for homelessness, addictions, and trauma.  He is also interested in using occupation to support mental health in schools.  Dr. Egan is also credentialed as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) in Illinois.

He has previously served as the Editor of AOTA's Mental Health Special Interest Section Quarterly.  Additionally, Dr. Egan acted as the chair of the ILOTA MHSIS Section (2015-2016) and the SCOTA MHSIS section (2018-2019).

He is excited to be returning to Chicago!  Some of his favorite occupations include drinking coffee, jogging, watching foreign films, collecting faux taxidermy, and traveling.
