Dr. Chin earned his PhD in mathematics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1985.
Dr. Chin's research is in Hopf algebras and representation theory. Specifically, Chin investigates noncommutative algebra, Hopf algebras and their actions on rings, quantum groups, and coalgebra representation theory. He is also interested in the stochastic modeling of games of chance.
