Allan Berele earned his PhD from the 
University of Chicago in 1981 under the direction of I.N. Herstein.  
Dr. Berele then held postdoctoral positions and instructorships at the 
Weizmann Institute, the University of California at San Diego, and the 
University of Pennsylvania, before joining the faculty at DePaul 
University in 1986.
Dr. Berele has over 60 publications, mostly in algebra.
