John Goldman

​John Goldman earned his BA at University of Rochester and MS degree at Penn State University.  He is a meteorologist whose interests center on synoptic analysis, severe convective storms, and the effect of climate change on local weather patterns.  John has extensive experience in operational weather forecasting, acquired in the aviation industry.  Prior to teaching at DePaul, John enjoyed a lengthy tenure with United Airlines, forecasting the weather for destinations around the globe.  He has also experienced and photographed natural environments in nearly 60 countries.  In his teaching, John emphasizes the basic physical principles which control the behavior of the atmosphere and the oceans.
