​​​Dr. Coleman-Givens speciality is in Critical & Surgical Intensive Care/Trauma and Leadership. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at Northern Illinois University, a Master of Science (MSN)/Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) at Governors State University, and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Governors State University.

Throughout her nursing career, Dr. Coleman-Givens enhanced her leadership abilities and became an exceptional transformational leader guiding underprivileged students seeking a career in nursing. She is a strong advocate for students who needs assistance from the south side of Chicago. By volunteering her time and skills preparing students for NCLEX, editing papers, motivating them and enriching their self-esteem. Her 18 years in leadership has developed her experience with diversity, emotional intelligence along with contributing to spiritual classes. She also works with overweight individuals on nutrition, strength training, goal setting and safely techniques for walking. Dr. Coleman-Givens is an ambitious leader with a passion for nursing.
