Early Opportunity Program

As part of the Alliance for the Health Sciences, DePaul University and Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science (RFU) have developed the Early Opportunity Program. The Early Opportunity Program offers select College of Science and Health Pathways Honors Program students the opportunity for an early admission decision into one of six professional programs at RFU: medicine, pharmacy, podiatry, physician assistant, pathologists' assistant, and physical therapy.

The Early Opportunity Program will result in acceptance of eligible applicants at the end of their freshman, sophomore or junior year at DePaul. Students may matriculate at RFU at the end of either their third year (3+ Accelerated Program) or fourth year (4+ Traditional Program) at DePaul.

Highlights of the Early Opportunity Program include:

  • Waiver of standardized entrance exams into RFU professional programs (i.e. MCAT, PCAT, etc.)
  • Allows for flexibility: Provides DePaul students more time to explore the health care program best suited for them versus having to declare it before enrolling at DePaul
  • Fully integrates with the benefits of being in the Pathways Honors Program
