The Pre-Health Program at DePaul is not a major. It’s a pre-professional program designed to help you identify which health career is the best fit and prepare you to become a competitive applicant to professional school. Any currently enrolled DePaul student from any major who is considering a professional degree in a health profession can register for the Pre-Health Program.

As a Pre-Health student at DePaul, you’ll be well prepared for graduate studies leading to a wide variety of health careers. We’ve also partnered with area health professions schools to create focused academic paths and support to pursue a variety of health careers.

Academic Support and Advising
We offer specialized pre-health advising for students interested in pursing a range of health careers. Our team of advisors will help you:
- Meet academic admission requirements
- Find internship and research opportunities
- Prepare for entrance exams
- Find volunteer, shadowing and professional development opportunities
- Apply to your graduate and professional program(s)
- Acquire letters of recommendation
- Write a committee letter of recommendation on your behalf
- Write your essay and personal statement
- Prepare for interviews

Pathways Honors Program
Pathways Honors is our pre-health honors program. Designed for highly qualified and motivated students, this program will help you explore health careers and it will provide mentorship as you prepare your portfolio for application to professional school.
