Combined Degree Programs

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry offers several combined Bachelor’s + Master’s degree options that allow you to complete an undergraduate degree and graduate degree usually in just over five years. Students often use our combined degree program options to prepare themselves for PhD programs or to enter the workforce at a higher salary and with more responsibility.

Our combined degree options shown below are specific to the fields of chemistry and biochemistry. Two of these options lead to a traditional Master of Science degree in Chemistry. The other two options are for students who would like to teach chemistry at the secondary education level. These combined degree programs were developed in partnership with DePaul University’s College of Education.

For students in the Pathways Honors Program, the department also offers several Accelerated 3+ Options in collaboration with Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science (RFUMS). For these programs, students complete three years of undergraduate coursework at DePaul and then their first year of professional school is counted as the final year of their undergraduate degree.
