Graduate Research Fund

The Graduate Research Fund (GRF) supports DePaul College of Science and Health graduate students in their pursuit of research and scholarship. The program provides funding for the planning and implementation of research and scholarship, as well as the presentation of student's research outcomes at professional and academic conferences. Graduate students who seek a GRF award should read the application instructions and then complete and submit the online GRF application.

Faculty sponsors will also need to complete an online GRF sponsor endorsement by the GRF deadline. GRF applicants should contact their faculty mentors 2 weeks prior to the deadline to request the online endorsement.  Students should provide the title of their project, their student ID number, their application, and the online link to their faculty mentor in advance.  Faculty mentors are asked to comment on the following: 1) Merit of the applicant's proposal; 2) How the proposal fits with the applicant's educational professional goals, and 3) How obtaining the requested funds would further the applicant's progress.

Application deadlines annually fall on the following dates (or the next business day)

  • October 1
  • February 1
  • May 15
The committee will begin reviewing applications after the posted deadline. Applicants will be notified of the committee's decision approximately 3-4 weeks following the posted grant deadline.

If you have any questions regarding the GRF application process, please contact Susan McMahon, Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Programs.
