Simulation Labs

Learn to meet the challenge.

Develop and advance your clinical skills in the School of Nursing’s simulation labs, newly remodeled and re-equipped in 2013. The labs feature high-fidelity computerized mannequins and exam rooms with “standardized patients”; these are trained volunteers who follow a script as you assess their needs. The simulation labs provide a safe environment for you to face challenges in intensive care, pediatric, obstetric and emergency response situations. The simulation lab at DePaul is modeled after the one at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, so students have the same advanced level of experience on either campus.

You’ll also have the opportunity to participate in advanced collaborative simulation techniques with students studying medicine, pharmacy, and other health professions from Rosalind Franklin. You’ll be able to practice tackling crisis intervention scenarios as part of a multidisciplinary team.
