Dr. Megan Greeson recipient of 2022 Mid-Career Excellence in Research Award

The College of Science and health is excited to announce the recipient of the 2022 Mid-Career Excellence in Research Award - Dr. Megan Greeson from the Department of Psychology.

​Dr. Megan Greeson joined DePaul in 2013 as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure in 2019. She is a community psychologist and the current director for DePaul's Community Psychology PhD program. Her research focuses on the pressing social concern of gender-based violence, and she has committed substantial effort to studying the role and effectiveness of sexual assault response teams (SART).  These teams have the potential to transform social support systems and resources for victims of sexual violence across criminal justice, medical, and mental health networks.  

Dr. Greeson is one of the leading researchers in this field and her work has been recognized for its innovation and contributions across disciplines.  She has secured $592,271 in external funding for her research from agencies including The Office of Violence Against Women and the National Institute of Justice. Dr. Greeson has published 32 peer-reviewed journal articles, several in high impact journals, and is on the editorial board of the American Journal of Community Psychology, the leading journal in her field. Her published works currently have 2,265 citations according to Google Scholar. Her research program, grant record, publications, and institutional collaborations demonstrate her force as a scholar. Dr. Greeson's continuing work on the frameworks and impact of community coalitions for sexual violence support has real world implications that coincide with Vincentian values of social service, justice, and responsibility.​
