Chemical Engineering Liberal Studies Program Requirements

DePaul (DPU) and  Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) Liberal Studies Requirement

  • LSP112 - Focal Point Seminar - 4 quarter hours (DPU).
  • LSP110 - Explore Chicago - 4 quarter hours (DPU) or LSP111 - Discover Chicago - 4 quarter hours (DPU).
  • WRD103 - Composition and Rhetoric I - 4 quarter hours (DPU).
  • WRD104 - Composition and Rhetoric II - 4 quarter hours (DPU).
  • LSP200 - Sophomore Seminar on Multiculturalism in the United States: 4 quarter hours (DPU).
  • Junior Year Experiential Learning - 4 quarter hours. This requirement is satisfied by an IPRO course (3 semester hours at IIT).
  • CHE330 - Senior Capstone - 4 quarter hours (DPU).
  • Arts and Literature: 12 quarter hours required (DPU). At most two courses from the same department or program. Choose from the courses listed in the Arts and Literature Learning Domain. The following courses may not be used: ART 104, 105, 106, 110, 113, 115, 204, 229; PRF 290.
  • Philosophical Inquiry: 8 quarter hours required (DPU).
  • Religious Dimensions: 8 quarter hours required (DPU). The following courses may not be used: CTH 243; REL 280.
  • Self, Society and the Modern World: 12 quarter hours required (DPU). No more than 2 courses from the same department or program.
  • Understanding the Past: 8 quarter hours required (DPU).
