Independent Study

Occasionally, graduate study calls for intensive research or a special internship experience that can only be achieved through an independent study course. Graduate students in the College of Science and Health can request to be enrolled in an independent study course by submitting an Independent Study Form.

You must submit the Independent Study Form complete with your signature and signatures from both the instructor and program director, to the College of Science and Health’s Office of Advising and Student Services at CSHRegistration@depaul.edu no later than the last day of the first week of the quarter - the last day to add - in which you wish to start the independent study course. Any request that is incomplete or not approved will be returned to you.

The associate director of graduate student services in the College of Science and Health's Office of Advising and Student Services will enroll you in the course created for the independent study with your unique course information. Please be sure to resolve any possible registration holds by contacting DePaul Central before submitting the independent study form to avoid jeopardizing your enrollment. You are responsible for resolving registration holds or any other issues that may prevent the graduate student services administrator from enrolling you in the course.

If you have any questions about completing an independent study form, please do not hesitate to contact the College of Science and Health's Office of Advising and Student Services at 773-325-8490.
